New Memories Programme

Would a stress free day out help your Bereaved Siblings to know that it is ok to smile again, and create new memories, after their brother or sister has died?

What is The New Memories Programme?

Our New Memories Programme operates across the whole of the UK. It provides siblings with the opportunity to do something positive for them; helping them to know that it’s ok to smile again after their brother or sister has died and helping them to have something for them.

Some siblings and their families use the programme to have a stress free day out - something that they wouldn’t normally be able to do and something that allows them to create a new memory. But that’s not all the programme can do. It can also:

  • Support a Bereaved Sibling to re-engage back into a sports club or hobby that they perhaps have not got back to since their sibling died.

  • Purchase something that allows them to get into a new hobby, that would help them to manage the emotions they feel since their sibling died.

  • It can help to create a meaningful memory that reminds them of their sibling.

There are two referral pathways to access The New Memories Programme. The first is using the ‘Self Referral’ link at the top of this page. This can be completed by a sibling if they’re over 18 years old, or a parent on their behalf. The second referral route is using the ‘Professionals Referral’ link, at the top of this page. This form is for professionals to complete on behalf of a sibling and their family. Professionals should have the permission of parents/siblings, before completing this form, to ensure that GDPR is complied with.

Once the referral form is complete, we will contact the sibling and their family directly, to arrange the details.

We are incredibly grateful to The Tides Foundation, for enabling us to provide this programme.

  • To access the New Memories Programme, the following criteria has to apply:

    • The new memory, or item that the programme purchases, has to be wanted to support the sibling and the impact that grief is having on their life.

    • The programme can only support siblings after their sibling has died.

    • There is no location criteria, as long as the sibling(s) lives in the UK.

    • By accessing the programme, you agree to completing a feedback form after the event.

  • It can. Email us at hello@siblingsupport.co.uk, to discuss how the programme can help to support siblings over sensitive anniversaries.

  • There is - but write all of the details out in the referral form and we will discuss specific details with you.

  • "Thankyou for everything you do. It really means the world"
