Where to Find Us

Salhouse Broad is a campsite, lake and natural area of peace, in the Norfolk Broads, north-east of Norwich. It sits beside the village of Salhouse, off the B1140 between Wroxham and Acle.

Getting there by car

  • From Norwich city centre: take the A47 eastbound, leave at the A1151/B1150 junction towards Wroxham/Sprowston, then follow signs for Wroxham. From Wroxham head north on the B1140 towards Salhouse. In Salhouse village, look for the lane signed to Salhouse Broad (turn off near the village green); limited roadside parking and a small public car park near the Broad may be available.

  • From the east (Acle): take the B1140 west towards Salhouse; the Broad is just off this road as you approach the village.

Public transport

  • By train: the nearest mainline station is Norwich. From Norwich, take a bus or taxi to Salhouse.

  • By bus: local bus routes run between Norwich and the villages north-east (check current timetables). Alight in Salhouse village; the Broad is a short walk from the village centre.

  • By taxi or cycle: a taxi from Norwich takes around 20–25 minutes depending on traffic; cycling from Norwich follows country lanes and tracks north-east for roughly 6–8 miles.

On foot from Salhouse village

  • From the village green or the church, follow pedestrian paths or signed lanes towards the river/boardwalk area; there are footpaths leading to the Broad’s edge and picnic/walking spots.

Notes

  • Salhouse Broad is accessed via footpaths and small lanes; some routes may be narrow or uneven. Wear suitable footwear.

  • Pay and Display restrictions apply on site - more details, below.
