2025 at Sibling Support!
As 2025 draws to a close, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on what’s been possible this year - and to say thank you to everyone who has supported Sibling Support in so many different ways.
From sharing stories, to fundraising, to showing up at events, everything we’ve been able to do this year has been shaped by the people who stand alongside bereaved siblings and their families.
Fundraising that made a real difference
In 2025, you ran, walked, swam, baked, crafted and sewed for Sibling Support.
Over 20 fundraisers took on challenges quite literally all around world - from marathons in Brighton, Chicago and Dublin, to half marathons, mountain climbs, open-water swims, wreath-making classes and Christmas Jumper Days.
As a charity that is 100% funded by donations, fundraising directly supports our events, resources, and work with bereaved siblings.
We have loved celebrating your achievements, and seeing your amazing photographs, below are just a few of our fantastic fundraisers.
Together, our fundraisers and supporters raised an absolutely incredible £29,400 in 2025.
Reaching families across the UK
This year, our website was viewed over 38,000 times, with more than 13,000 individual people accessing information, resources, and support.
Our Programme for Parents was accessed 1,600 times, meaning 1,600 parents, carers, and family members sought guidance to help support a child grieving the death of their sibling.
Connecting siblings in person
This year, 84 children and their parents / carers joined us at our 4 Sibling Days across the UK.
We chatted, explored our four exciting venues, met others who ‘got it’ and worked together in bereavement workshops ran by our brilliant partners - Stand By Me Bereavement Support, and Me and My Therapy,
“I think it was really powerful for my daughter to be amongst others who know what it is to lose a sibling, an experience that she so often feels alone in - thank you.”
Resources sent where they’re needed
From January to December, we have posted out:
432 resource orders
3,712 individual resources posted to families, schools and professionals
From booklets for young people of all ages to mindfulness boxes, mood badges and plantable memory seeds, each resource we have posted has been sent to offer practical support and reassurance to bereaved siblings and the people around them.
Supporting bereaved adult siblings
At the end of November, we ran our first ever adult sibling meet-up in collaboration with Let’s Talk About Loss, for 18-35 year olds who have all experienced the death of a brother or sister.
Eighteen siblings came together to talk, play games, and connect with others who understand the pain of your sibling dying. It was an incredibly successful day, and we hope to run many more of these in 2026!
One sibling even travelled 495 miles from Northern Ireland to London to attend - a powerful reminder of how needed these spaces are, and how far people will go to feel understood.
The launch of our 2025 - 2030 strategy
This year, we launched our 5-Year Strategy, setting out our vision for 2030: to ensure every bereaved sibling under 18 in the UK can access grief support in a way that works for them, and use that support to manage their grief day to day.
Our vision is built around accessibility and growth - ensuring siblings can access free, accessible resources; meet other bereaved siblings through social groups and meet-ups; be supported by bereavement providers who understand the impact of a sibling’s death; return to school with teachers who are trained and aware; and have opportunities to create new memories with their families.
For more information on what we are hoping to achieve in 2026 and beyond, and to read our full report, take a look at our website here.
Thank you so much to everyone who helped make this year possible - whether you donated, fundraised, shared your story, attended an event, or quietly supported us behind the scenes, we are so incredibly grateful.
From all of us at Sibling Support, have a lovely New Year and we wish you a brilliant 2026.
