Our 5 year strategy and 2024 - 25 annual review! ~
Since launching in 2020, we’ve supported bereaved siblings, partnered with professionals, and begun building a presence across the UK.
This year, we have reflected on our work so far and are proud to launch our new 5-year strategy, paving the way to 2030.
Each year, thousands of siblings face grief feeling isolated and alone - our mission is to make sure every one of them is seen, heard, and supported.
We’ll strengthen our work with professionals so healthcare, schools, and community settings recognise and respond to siblings’ needs.
We’ll adapt our support for different ages up to 18 years old and different accessibility needs. Our aim is to ensure that no matter how a bereaved sibling accesses the world, they’re able to access our support.
We will work with hospitals, hospices and schools to ensure help is offered as early as possible in a sibling’s grief journey.
Take a look at how we plan to continue helping grieving siblings over the next 5 years.
Our 2025 - 2030 goals
Our full strategy document, below, explains in detail, our objectives for the next 5 years.
As the UK’s only sibling-specific bereavement charity, our work focuses on protecting the mental health and wellbeing of bereaved siblings by providing a range of national and local services including free resources, information, social opportunities and compassionate guidance.
Every year, thousands of siblings face the devastating grief of sibling bereavement - and without early, effective support, the impact can last a lifetime.
Over the next five years, we’ll expand our reach across the UK, strengthen our partnerships with professionals, and create more opportunities for siblings to connect, ensuring that no child navigates grief alone.
Our 2030 vision
In summary, our 2030 vision is simple. We want to ensure that EVERY Bereaved Sibling has access to the grief support that is accessible and appropriate for them. This means that no matter how a bereaved sibling accesses the world, or how they want to seek support, we will have something appropriate available to them. We also plan to work closely with partner professionals to ensure that no matter who is in a bereaved siblings support network, they’re offering proactive and approachable support. We plan to develop our existing services and develop new projects to achieve this and we plan to actively listen to the thoughts, experiences and opinions of bereaved siblings, to help shape our future services.
Our resources
By 2030, we want every grieving sibling to have access to our resources, wherever they are.
That’s why we’re working towards having our posters and our resources in every GP surgery, so families can discover help when they need it most; in schools, so teachers can offer the right support; in hospitals, so care is available before and after a bereavement; and in hospices, so siblings feel seen and supported at one of the hardest times in their lives.
Wherever a sibling’s grief journey begins, we want them to know they’re not alone.

Looking back to 2024 - 25
Over the past year, thanks to the dedication of our supporters and team, we have supported over 1,000 bereaved siblings, sent out 4,500 free resources, and welcomed 2 new staff members to strengthen our work.
We also expanded our reach by adding over 10 new bereavement professionals to our network, sharing 10 sibling stories on our website, and seeing more than 1,250 parents use our new Programme For Parents online course.
We love hearing your feedback, and during 24-25, we received some truly incredible words from families and professionals alike.
Your experiences help us understand what’s working and where we can do even more.
Knowing the difference our resources and events can make reminds us just how important it is to keep building and improving support for grieving siblings everywhere.
A moment for our fundraisers…
In 24-25, our incredible community of fundraisers went above and beyond - raising an outstanding £23,000 to help us in continuing to support bereaved siblings across the UK.
From marathons and mountain climbs to bake sales, swims, and charity walks, we are so grateful to each person who fundraised in memory of a sibling or in support of grieving young people - your efforts mean we can reach even more families who need us.
Thank you!
We really couldn’t have done it without you.
